For those in the Hanford CA area looking for something inexpensive and fun to do, this is the place for you. Conveniently located in historic downtown, the Garden offers a quaint place to enjoy the outdoors, read and even some arts and crafts. I spend my Saturdays here as a volunteer and it has become my happy place.
Set in the middle of the garden is a farm house originally built in 1906. Inside we have antique furniture and a room set up to give a look into the life of turn of the century farmer. Scattered around the garden are small areas with little play houses. My favorite is the Van Gogh house.
The kitchen garden and orchard are amazing as at any time of year you can find a snack to eat. Right now I’m able to enjoy fresh grapes from the vine. I look forward to when the apples are ripe and ready to pick. I love to share the bounty of the garden with guests as they come through.
The garden offers venue space for meetings and birthdays as well as hosting events. Coming soon we’ll have a tea party in the Fancy Nancy theme based off the beloved children’s book. We also host bilingual storytime every third Saturday of the month. The garden is a magnificent place to learn and grow.
I enjoy my time here at the Children’s Storybook Garden and Museum. I’m able to relax and have fun while also serving my community. It’s been a wonderful experience and one I will continue to cherish as time passes.
Come help us grow at the Children’s Storybook Garden and Museum.
